AGV PAI T-20 Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 29th May’18 to 21st Jun.’18 at Raichur.
27 teams from different cities participated in this much celebrated tournament. An all-important final of this tournament was played between Udupi Cricket Club Udupi and S S Sports Club Bellary on 21st Jun.’18 at Hutti Gold Mines Ground- Raichur.
Electing to bat, Udupi Cricket Club posted a very good score of 187 runs in 20 overs after losing 8 wickets. Team started well with both opening batsmen Azim K and Tunish Sawkar scoring 35 and 28 runs respectively at fast rate. Rahul Keni and Aniket Desai too played well and added 32 runs each helping team reach at a good score. Pick of the bowlers was Kamruddin from S S Sports Club Bellary, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, S S Sports Club Bellary started to fumble from early overs. Most of the players were dismissed below 20’s and team crumbled at the score of 139 runs in 18.2 overs. Highest scorers were Mansoor and Vijay Kumar K with 36 and 34 runs respectively. Azim K from Udupi Cricket Club was the chief wrecker as he rattled the rivals by picking up 5 wickets in 4 overs resulted in early collapse of S S Sports Club Bellary.
Udupi Cricket Club Udupi registered a comfortable 48 run win over S S Sports Club Bellary in the final of AGV Pai T-20 Cricket Tournament 2018.
Azim K from Udupi Cricket Club Udupi was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
