KCL Gallons Cup Summer -2018 (19 to 36) - organized by Karnavati Club- Ahmedabad was played between 9th May’18 to 21st Jun.’18.
Out of the 17 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Juggernaut XI and Rising Hunters XI on 21st Jun.’18 at Karnavati Club- Ahmedabad.
Electing to bat, Juggernaut XI failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Shaishav Shah and Neel Shah scored 31 and 29 runs respectively at fast pace,which helped them post a reasonable score of 102 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. Team displayed disappointing batting performance with majority of the players being dismissed atq single digit scores. Almost all the bowlers from Rising Hunters XI did a good job but pick of the lot was Mrugay Surti, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs restricting Juggernaut from putting up a big score. Samip Thakkar too chipped in with 2 important wickets hampering the batting line up of the rival team badly.
It was not a smooth sailing for Rising Hunters XI too while chasing the target of 103 runs. Team went on losing wickets at regular intervals, which reduced their pace and team had to struggle till the last over to reach at the target. Prakash Chainani’s unbeaten 27 runs in 18 balls played an important role in the final win for the team. Mrugay Surti shone again with bat as he added useful 23 runs off 38 balls. The fight continued till the end, where Kaushal Thakkar’s winning boundary on the last ball helped team reach at the score of 106 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Jinoy Patel from Juggernaut XI, who picked 3 wickets in 4 overs giving only 17 runs.
A nail-biting final went in favour of Rising Hunters XI as they registered a 1 wicket win over Juggernaut XI in the final of KCL Gallons Cup Summer - 2018 (19 to 36).
Prakash Chainani from Rising Hunters XI was awarded as the player of the match.
