Kranti CC (MCB Surat) Cup 2018 was organized between 26th May’18 to 17th Jun.’18 at Surat.
26 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament, from which the final was played between Aaspaas XI Dumas and Ranjanba XI on 17th Jun.’18 at Kholvad Islam Gymkhana- Surat.
Ranjanba XI won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Aaspaas XI Dumas started well with both opening batsmen Malay Rana and Kamlesh Bhagat scoring 43 and 11 runs respectively at fast rate. However, remaining players failed to prove their mettle as most of them were dismissed in single digits without contributing much to the final score. Team posted a reasonable score of 109 runs in 20 overs after losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Shirish Natvarbhai Deladvala, who picked 3 wickets in 4 overs giving only 14 runs restricting Aaspaas XI Dumas from putting up a big score.
While chasing, despite facing some early blows- Ranjanba XI chased down the target in 18 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. The strong partnership between Manyur Rasulia (39) and Rakesh (20) led team to a strong position. However, team did lost some important wickets in middle overs but a wonderful innings from Captain Vimal Parmar, who made 21 runs off 15 balls steered team toward the final win.
Ranjanba XI registered a 3 wicket win over Aaspaas XI Dumas in the final of Kranti CC (MCB Surat) Cup 2018.
Shirish Natvarbhai Deladvada from Ranjanba XI was awarded as the player of the match.
