One of the most heavily followed tournaments of Barmer- Gudamalani Gold Cup 2018 was organized between 25th May’18 to 17th Jun.’18.
94 teams from various verticals participated in this much cherished tournament, from which the final was played between Aalam Cricket Club Dhorimnna and Royal Challenge Barasan on 12th Jun.’18 at Gudamalani Ground- Barmer.
Royal Challenge Barasan won the toss and elected to field. The decision went terribly wrong for them as batting first, Aalam Cricket Club Dhorimnna played a very good innings and put up a good score of 138 runs in 16 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Though team lost their 1st wickets very early, the strong partnership of 50 runs between Mahendra and Ramesh led team to a very strong position. Mahendra displayed excellent batting skills and smashed unbeaten 54 runs in 47 balls with 5 boundaries and 1 six. Captain Navin Soni and Kunwar Raj Singh too performed well and added 22 and 20 runs respectively at fast pace during crucial overs.
While chasing, Royal Challenge Barasan started to fumble from early overs with majority of the players being dismissed at single digit scores. Highest scorers were Ramesh Bishnoi and Mohan Bishnoi with 27 and 16 runs respectively. Wickets fell in quick succession after Ramesh Bishnoi’s dismissal and team crumbled at a meager score of 66 runs in 13.4 overs. Chief wrecker was Praveen from Aalam Cricket Club Dhorimnna, who scalped 4 wickets in 4 overs giving only 13 runs. Navin Soni and Ramesh too chipped in with 2 wickets each damaging the batting line up of Royal Challenge Barasan completely.
Aalam Cricket Club Dhorimnna displayed an all-round show and recorded and easy 72 run win over Royal Challenge Barasan in the final of Gudamalani Gold Cup 2018.
Mahendra from Aalam Cricket Club Dhorimnna was awarded as the player of the match.
