One of the most prestigious tournaments of Uttarakhand- 36th All India Uttarakhand Gold Cup Cricket Tournament 2018 - organized by Cricket Association of Uttarakhand was played between 25th May’18 to 11th June’18 at Dehradun.
16 teams from different cities participated in this tournament from which, the crucial final was played between ONGC- Delhi and Air India (Delhi) on 12th Jun.’18 at Rangers Cricket Ground- Dehradun.
Electing to bat, ONGC- Delhi posted a reasonable score of 216 runs in 41.2 overs after losing all the wickets. Radheshyam Gupta top scored with unbeaten 52 runs off 67 balls, where in Saurabh Kumar too played a good innings and added 41 runs at fast rate. Dhruv Singh from Air India bowled exceptionally well as he picked 4 wickets in 8.2 overs giving 30 runs only. Rajat Bhatia too chipped in with 3 important wickets in 4 overs restricting ONGC- Delhi from putting up a big score.
While chasing, Air India (Delhi) got an excellent start with opening batsman- Captain Rajat Bhatia smashing 71 runs off 80 balls with 9 boundaries and 1 six. He was supported well from the other end by Ankit Dabas, who added 27 runs off 32 balls. Almost all the players performed well and contributed significantly in the final chase. Air India (Delhi) managed to chase down the target in 42.1 overs after losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Suhail Sharma from ONGC- Delhi with 3 wickets.
Air India (Delhi) came up with an all-round performance and recorded a 3 wickets win over ONGC - Delhi in the final of 36th All India Uttarakhand Gold Cup Cricket Tournament 2018.
Rajat Bhatia from Air India (Delhi) was awarded as the player of the match for is outstanding performance.
