One of the heavily followed tournaments of Ahmedabad- G P L-8 (Tennis Ball) - organized by SGVP Surya Sports Academy -Ahmedabad was played between 29th Apr.’18 to 10th Jun.’18.
106 teams from various cities of Gujarat participated in this much celebrated tournament. An all-important final of the tournament was played between L K Star- Rajkot and Dev XI B (Motherhood Hospital) on 10th Jun.’18 at SGVP Cricket Ground- Ahmedabad.
Electing to bat L K Star- Rajkot played at fast rate and made 131 runs in 12 overs by losing 6 wickets. Hitendrasinh Jadeja top scored with unbeaten 47 runs in 24 ball with 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. Other major contributors were Shailesh Gadhvi and Sakil Sanjat, who scored 29 and 37 runs respectively at fast pace. Pick of the bowlers was Arjun Jadeja, who took 3 wickets in 3 overs. Meet Joshi too bowled well and chipped in with 2 important wickets.
While replying, despite trying well Dev XI B failed to score at required rate. Opening batsman and Captain - Suraj Desai played a good innings and scored 26 runs 18 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. He was supported well by Bhavesh from the other end, who added useful 17 runs in 14 balls. However, team started to lose wickets at regular intervals after his dismissal was restricted at the score of 102 runs at the end of 12 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Rajdeep Jadeja from L K Star- Rajkot was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.
L K Star- Rajkot displayed an all-round performance and registered a glorious 29 run win over Dev XI- B (Motherhood Hospital) in the final of G P L 8- 2018 (Tennis Ball).
