RSCC Inter Department Cricket Tournament- organized by Reliance Sports and Cultural Center (RSCC) was played between 1st May’18 to 10th Jun.’18 at Jamnagar.
69 teams from various departments of RSCC participated in this most celebrated tournament from which the final was played between Alkylation and Sulphar DTA on 10th Jun.’18 at RSCC Cricket Ground- Jamnagar.
Alkylation won the toss and elected to bat. The decision almost backfired as team started to lose wickets at regular intervals from early overs. None of players were managed to stay strong on crease until Harsh Patel, who came to bat on 7th position. He played a wonderful innings and scored 42 runs in 29 balls leading team to a strong position. With his outstanding effort, Alkylation managed to put up a competitive score of 110 runs in 15.5 overs after losing all the wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Chirag Chandarana from Sulphur DTA, who scalped 2 wickets in 4 overs giving only 16 runs. Mr. Mukund M Patel too bowled well and picked 2 wickets in 2.5 overs restricting the opponent from putting up a big score.
While chasing, Sulphur DTA failed to get a good start as they lost some important wickets during early overs. However, Captain Chirag Chandarana played well and added 30 runs off 38 balls with 3 boundaries. Mr. Kailash Dev Singh tried really well as he smashed 52 runs in 33 balls and remained not out. He failed to get good support from the other end and despite trying extremely well Sulphur DTA fell short of 3 runs and closed their innings at the score of 107 runs in 16 overs with the loss of 5 wickets.
