Kurugod Premier League 2018 (KPL) was organized between 25th May’18 to 9th Jun.’18 at Bellary.
Out of the 6 participant teams, an all-important final of the tournament was played between Save Green Boys and Star Riders Kurugodu on 9th Jun.’18 at Got PU College Ground- Bellary.
Star Riders Kurugodu won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Save Green Boys played a good innings and posted 109 runs in 12 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Highest scorers were Nagraj Kempa and Santosh Kumar with 35 and 25 runs respectively. Honnur Kempa too added useful 14 runs in 7 balls and helped team reach at a competitive score. Basava Reddy from Star Riders Kurugodu shone with bowl as he picked 4 wickets in 3 overs interrupting the run-flow of opponent team.
While replying, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Star Riders Kurugodu played at a very good pace. Almost all the players scored well for the final chase but major contribution came from Khalandar and Rajashekhar, who made 39 and 20 runs respectively at fast rate. Team managed to chase down the target in 10.2 overs by losing 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Prem from Save Green Boys, who scalped 3 wickets in 2.2 overs.
Star Riders Kurugodu displayed an all-round performance and registered a 4 wicket win over Save Green Boys in the final of Kurugod Premier League 2018.
Khalandar from Star Riders Kurugodu was awarded as the player of the match.
