Settur Premier League 2018 was organized between 30th May’18 to 8th Jun.’18 at Kalyandurg.
Out of the 8 participant teams, the crucial final of this much cherished tournament was played between SPL Golden 11 and Trophy Fighters on 8th Jun.’18 at Green Park- Kalyandurg.
Electing to bat, SPL Golden 11 posted a good score of 148 runs at the end of 16 overs after losing 9 wickets. Though team lost its first wicket in early overs, the strong partnership between Nagesh Swamy and V Swamy, who scored 56 and 42 runs respectively took team to a strong position. Pick of the bowlers was V Gangadhar from Trophy Fighters, who picked 2 wickets in 3 overs.
While replying, Trophy Fighters did not manage to score at required rate. None of the players managed to score beyond 10’s and team crippled at the score of 96 runs in 13.4 overs. C Thippe Swamy was the highest scorer, who remained not out at the score of 19 runs. Bowling highlight of the innings was Ramana K, who scalped 3 wickets in 2.4 overs. Basha and Dileep too picked 3 wickets each damaging the batting line up of Trophy Fighters completely.
SPL Golden 11 recorded an easy 52 run win over Trophy Fighters in the final of Settur Premier League 2018.
