Bahubali Cup 2018- organized by A Ray Of Hope Society was played between 5th May’18 to 3rd Jun.’18 at Haflong.
32 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament, from which the final was played between Koshish Society and JPC Haflong 11 on 3rd Jun.’18 at Kendriya Vidyalaya Field - Haflong.
JPC Haflong 11 won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they restricted Koshish Society for 84 runs in 14 overs by losing all the wickets. Most of the players were dismissed in singles or 10’s reduced them to a low score. Highest run-getter was Saddam, who made 22 runs in 12 balls with one boundary and two sixes. The main reason behind Koshish Society’s early collapse was Krishnandu Das from JPC Haflong 11, who rattled the rival boat with 5 wickets in 3 overs.
After a wonderful bowling performance, JPC Haflong 11 failed to deliver the same while batting. Team did not get a good start and wickets started to fall from early overs. With most of the players scoring below 10, team ended up scoring 71 runs at the end of 15 overs after losing 9 wickets. All the bowlers of Koshish Society did a good job, but pick of the bowlers was Pranjal Saikia, who picked 3 wickets in 3 overs. Tapan Saikia and Mustafizur Rahman too bowled well and chipped in with 2 wickets each restricting JPC Haflong 11 from reaching at the target.
Koshish Society registered a 13 runs win over JPC Haflong 11 in the final of Bahubali Cup 2018.
