Victo Premier League 2017-18 TRPL was organized between 1st Apr.’18 to 27th May’18 at Kolkata.
Out of the 8 participating teams, the crucial final was played between Team Saraswatii and United Sporting on 27th May’18 at St. Thomas School Ground- Kolkata.
United Sporting won the toss and elected to field. The decision went terribly wrong for the team as batting first, Team Saraswatii posted a mammoth score of 320 runs in 20 overs by losing 3 wickets. An outstanding partnership between Vivek Singh and Pramod Chandila, who smashed 147 and 123 runs respectively at fiery pace put up immense pressure on the opponent team to chase a huge target for the final.
While chasing the mighty target, United Sporting fired in unison and managed to score 323 runs 19.5 overs after losing 8 wickets. Almost all the players contributed significantly for the final chase. Opening batsmen Ompal Boken and Sanjay Yadav started very well by scoring 51 and 49 runs at fast pace. Despite losing wickets at regular interval, team continued to score at required rate. Kaushal and Pankaj Shaw too performed extremely well and added 85 and 90 runs respectively, which led team towards the final win. Pick of the bowlers was Sankalan Das from Team Saraswatii, who scalped 3 important wickets in 4 overs restricting United Sporting from reaching at the target easily.
While both the teams displayed a wonderful performance, the high scoring final went in favour of United Sporting as they registered a glorious 3 wickets win over Team Saraswatii in the final of Victo Premier League 2017-18 TRPL.
