One of the most cherished tournaments of Jaipur- Vimal Cup U-19 Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 22nd Apr.’18 to 27th May’18.
Out of 8 participant teams, the crucial final of this much loved tournament was played between Vimal- GR and Sanskar Cricket Academy on 27th May’18 at SBN Cricket Stadium- Jaipur.
Electing to bat, Vimal - GR played a strong innings with almost all the players contributing significantly for the final score. Team started well with opening batsman Jitendra Bhalia scoring 29 runs off 27 balls with 3 boundaries and 1 six. Other major contributors were Captain Chandan Chaoudhary and Harvendra Dhakad, who made 53 and 38 runs respectively. Vimal - GR posted a decent score of 213 runs in 48 overs after losing all the wickets. Rajat Chaudhary and Abhishek Yadav from Sanskar Cricket Academy bowled really well and scalped 4 and 3 wickets respectively restricting Vimal- GR from putting up a big score.
While chasing, Sanskar Cricket Academy failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Devesh Agarwal, who came to bat on 4th position played a very good innings and scored 50 runs giving much needed boost to the score. Manohar Singh too played well and added unbeaten 62 runs off 77 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six. Despite trying really well, Sanskar Cricket Academy did not manage to score at required rate and collapsed at the score of 179 runs in 47 overs. All the bowlers of Vimal- GR did a good job, but pick of the lot was Harvendra Dhakad, who picked 2 wickets in 10 overs giving 40 runs.
Vimal- GR displayed an all-round performance to register a 34 runs win over Sanskar Cricket Academy in the final of Vimal Cup U-19.
