Goa Civil Services Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 24th Apr.’18 to 31st May’18 at Goa.
Out of the 46 participant teams, the final was played between Electricity Dept and Public Works Dept on 23rd May’18 at Binani Ground- Goa.
Electricity Dept won the toss and elected to bat. Team didn’t manage to perform well as they bundled up scoring 95 runs in 17.4 overs. Highest scorers were Sandeep Dabholkar and Kiran Shirvoikar with 27 and 22 runs respectively. However, most of the players were dismissed in single digits resulted in early collapse of Electricity Dept. Shailesh S Naik from Public Works Dept was at his best as he picked 4 wickets in 3 overs damaging the batting line up of opponent completely.
While replying, Public Works Dept too struggled to reach at the target as team started to lose wickets from early overs. However, since the target was not very difficult to defend, team managed to achieve it in 19.2 overs by losing 9 wickets. Major contributor was Chetan Naik, who added 28 runs off 31 balls. Pick of the bowlers was Sandesh Pandre from Electricity Dept, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs by giving 12 runs.
Public Works Dept won the final by 1 wicket against Electricity Dept in Goa Civil Services Cricket Tournament 2018.
Shailesh S Naik from Public Works Dept was awarded as the player of the match.
