Gandhiwadi Cricket Carnival 2018 - organized by Shree Champaneri Modh Gandhi Samaj was played between 11th May’18 to 21st May’18 at Vadodara- Gujarat.
Out of 32 participant teams, an all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played between Shaher Ki Shaan and Unchipole Pirates on 21st May’18 at Gandhiwadi- Vadodara.
Unchipole Pirates won the toss elected to field. Proving their decision right, they restricted the opponent from scoring well for the final. Most of the players were dismissed within 10 runs and team managed to put up a paltry score of 47 runs in 10 overs, where in ironically 21 runs were gifted to them by Unchipole Pirates bowlers through extras. Highest scorer was Jigar Gandhi with unbeaten 12 runs. Gandhi Jaymin from Unchipole Pirates was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets in 3 overs.
After the poor batting display, Shaher Ki Shaan players returned with strong bowling attack and confined Unchipole Pirates at the score of 38 runs in 10 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Top scorer was Vraj Gandhi, who made 16 runs off 19 balls. Bowling highlight of the innings was Yash Gandhi, who picked 2 wickets in 3 overs giving only 8 runs. Remaining bowlers too contributed well as they bowled with a very low economy rate and picked important wickets during crucial overs.
Shaher Ki Shaan won the final by 9 runs against unchipole Pirates in Gandhiwadi Cricket Carnival 2018.
Jigar Gandhi from Shaher Ki Shaan was awarded as the player of the match.
